The East Gate was the main entrance to the
Outer Court; it
had six guard posts, as opposed to four
at the North Gate and the South Gate
(1 Chronicles 26:17).
As for the west side, there were two gates: the West
Gate and the Shalleketh Gate on the upper road.
There were two guards at the court itself and
four at the road.
Besides the guards at the outer gates, there were
two guarding the storehouse in the inner court.
