The interior measurements of the Holy Place were 40 cubits (60 feet)
long, 20 cubits (30 feet) wide and 30 cubits (45 feet) high.
Everything inside the Temple was either made of pure gold
or overlaid with gold.
Even the walls, the ceiling and floor were overlaid with fine gold.
The walls were richly ornamented with precious stones,
palm trees and chains and carved with gourds, open flowers and cherubim
(1 Kings 6:18, 29;
2 Chronicles 3:5-7).
The furniture of the Holy Place consisted of
ten golden lampstands,
five on the right side
and five on the left; also ten tables of
showbread, five on the right
side and five on the left.
In front of the Most Holy Place was the
golden altar of incense.
