The table was of acacia wood, 2 cubits (3 feet) long, 1 cubit (1.5 feet) wide and 1.5 cubits (2.25 feet) high. It was overlaid with gold - speaks of Jesus Christ being the perfect man and the perfect God. The table had a crown around the border. There were four rings in the four corners on its four feet for the carrying poles.

On the table were 12 loaves of bread (see Leviticus 24:5-9), according to the number of the tribes and symbolizing the bread of life given by God. The bread was arranged in two piles, each had six loaves.
